日本の生け花は世界中の人々に大変興味を持たれ、小さな国に行っても、その国の辞書にイケバナとしてのっております。1945年マッカーサー元帥夫人が、日本に来て一番先に習いたいのはいけばなと云うことで、勅使河原蒼風先生は疎開先からジープで迎えられ、焼野原の 中で米軍夫人の大勢を指導しました。ミセス・アーレンはこの素晴らしいいけばなで世界中の人々と友好の輪を結びたいと、東京に本部を置くイケバナインター ナショナル（I.I.)と云う組織を作りました。今世界50国に200支部ができ、2006年10月に、50周年を向かえ、各国から1000人の会員が集 まり、第9回世界大会が東京で開かれました。そこでは、各国の特徴を表現した花展が開かれ、各家元のデモンストレーションも演じられ、民族衣装を着飾った 会員は楽しい、和やかな5日間を過ごしました。札幌にも1964年、日本で3番目、世界で69番目のI.I.札幌支部として創立され、各流派集まり、楽 しい会合を今も続けています。
草月流はどんな場においても小作から大作まで、創作できる楽しいいけばなです。私は札幌の真駒内、千歳市の米軍基地で多くのご夫人方にいけばなを指導して きて、世界各国に弟子がおります。それらの外国での指導の様子もこのホームページご案内いたします。（佐々木秋放）

Ikebana and Me

　Even if it is interested in people in the world very much and performs the flower arrangement of Japan, I get on the dictionary of the small country as IKEBANA.
The teacher, Sofu Teshigahara was invited getting on jeep from the evacuation by General MacArthur's wife who came to Japan in 1945. She wanted to learn Ikebana first of all .
The teacher,Teshigawara have taught many of the United States Armed Forces’ｓ wives in fire-ravaged areas of Tokyo. When Mrs. Arlen wants to conclude the ring of the friendship with people by this splendid flower arrangement in the world.The Ikebana International organization which said I.I.and puts the headquarters in Tokyo, The 50 countries had 200 branch office in this world, In October of 2006,the 1,000 members of Ikebana gathered from all over the world, The 9th world meeting was opened as the 50th anniversary in Tokyo. Therefore the exhibition which expressed a characteristic of each country was held, the demonstration was played by each head master of school and spent with folk costume during peaceful 5 days when the member who dressed up was happy. It is founded the 69th I.I. Sapporo branch office of the world as the third of Japan in 1964.Each school gather and still continue the pleasant meeting.
The Sougetu school is the pleasant flower arrangement that I can create from a small work to a masterpiece in any kind of place.
I have taught the flower arrangement to many of wives in Makomanai of Sapporo and Chitose of US base. There is lots of pupil of Ikebana in various countries. I will show you the appearance of the guidance in those foreign countries on this homepage.（Shuho Sasaki)
